Terms of Service
Training Stack — Run & Strength Tracker
TL;DR — The short version
- Training Stack is a training tool, not medical advice
- You train at your own risk — listen to your body and stop if something hurts
- Your data is yours; cloud features are optional and you can delete them
- AI suggestions can be wrong — use your judgment
- It's built by one person and provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Training Stack, including the iOS and watchOS app, the web dashboard at trainingstack.ravenhoward.org, and the Training Stack connector for AI assistants (together, "the Service"). The Service is developed and operated by Raven Howard ("we," "us").
By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What the Service Does
Training Stack helps you track running and strength workouts, follow training plans, and review your progress. Some features are optional and off by default:
- Cloud Sync — stores your training data on our backend so you can use the web dashboard and connected AI assistants
- AI assistant connector — lets an assistant you choose (such as Claude or ChatGPT) read and update your training data
- Notifications — training reminders and updates
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms.
Not Medical Advice
The Service provides general fitness information. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for a doctor, physical therapist, or qualified coach.
- Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise program, especially if you have a health condition, an injury, or haven't trained in a while
- Stop exercising and seek help if you feel pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, or shortness of breath
- Heart rate, pace, distance, and other metrics come from your devices and can be inaccurate
- The Service is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition
Training Plans & AI Suggestions
Training plans, prescribed weights, progressions, and suggestions — including anything generated or edited by an AI assistant — are starting points, not instructions you must follow. They can be wrong, and they don't know how you feel on a given day.
You are responsible for choosing weights, paces, and volume that are safe for you, using proper form and equipment, and training in a safe environment. Lifting heavy weights and running carry real risk of injury.
Your Account
Some features require signing in with Apple. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your devices and connected accounts secure. If you connect an AI assistant, anything that assistant does through the connector is treated as done on your behalf — you can disconnect it at any time.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and old enough to agree to these Terms where you live.
Your Data
You own your training data. You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the features you turn on, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't sell your data.
You can turn off Cloud Sync and delete your cloud data from within the App at any time. Data stored only on your device stays under your control and is removed when you delete the App.
Third-Party Services
The Service relies on services we don't control, including Apple (HealthKit, WeatherKit, iCloud, Sign in with Apple, push notifications), Cloudflare (hosting), and any AI assistant you choose to connect. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them.
Acceptable Use
Don't misuse the Service. In particular, don't:
- Try to access other people's data or accounts
- Probe, overload, or interfere with the backend, or get around its security
- Reverse engineer the Service except where the law allows it
- Use the Service to break the law
We may suspend access to cloud features if they're being misused.
Availability & Changes
Training Stack is built and maintained by one person. We work to keep it running, but we don't guarantee that any feature will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may change, pause, or discontinue features — including cloud features — at any time. Where it's reasonable, we'll give notice before removing something you rely on.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any injury, loss of data, or loss of profits arising from your use of the Service or from following any plan, prescription, or suggestion it provides. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Apple App Store
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or consumer protection claims
- Apple is not responsible for investigating or defending any claim that the App infringes a third party's intellectual property rights
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you
Your use of the App must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms.
Ending Your Use
You can stop using the Service at any time: delete the App, turn off Cloud Sync and delete your cloud data, and disconnect any AI assistant. We may end or suspend access to cloud features if you violate these Terms. The sections on disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law continue to apply after you stop using the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be highlighted in the App or on this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
Effective as of September 19, 2026
